![]() The project I was trying to finish turned out the way intended. The new installation is working fine, and it's not opening the wrong file. To solve this, I finally got rid of 2.5.4, tried installing 2.6, saw it was too unfamiliar, got rid of it, and then RE-installed 2.5.4. I've used the "DVD" option many times, and it produces a file that DVD burning programs can work with. Why it went back to a file I'd worked on YESTERDAY and had NOT selected suggested something was wrong with the program. What I said was that the program was, for some reason, going back to a previous file I'd worked on when I selected "Auto/Optical Disc/DVD", apparently DUMPING the file I'd actually opened. Nothing was said in my opening post about trying to make a DVD. Go to the Avidemux 2.5.4 binary archive here Download avidemux22.5.4intel. I'm wasn't throwing any "off the wall" file in there, nor was I expecting the program to make a DVD, since AVIdemux doesn't make DVDs. For those of you unable to run Avidemux 2.5.6 on OSX you can try running Avidemux 2.5.4 on Yosemite and Lion thanks to some instructions from Way over at Glichet. I'm guessing you are throwing some "off the wall", downloaded video file in there and expecting it to make a DVD for you? I have 2.5.4, not 2.4.4. Once installed, start it from app menu or Unity dash.I have 2.4.4 and that preset is not in there. Sudo apt-get install avidemux2.6-gtk avidemux2.6-qt4 While Ubuntu repositories still have version 2.5.
